Ruth Williams
1932-2012
DELEON -- Ruth L. Williams, 79, passed away at her residence Friday February 3, 2012. Arrangements for Mrs. Williams are under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Comanche. The family will hold a memorial at a later date.
Mrs. Williams was born April 13, 1932, to Phillip and Effie (Stewart) Mosher, in Brazoria County. She married Henry L. Williams in Colorado City on August 21, 1948, and worked in Restaurant Food Services. She moved to DeLeon in April 2008.
Mrs. Williams is survived sons, Henry David and Johnny Lee Williams of DeLeon; daughter, Shirley Cox of Bullhead, Arizona; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ted Mosher of DeLeon, Benett Mosher of Loraine, and JW Mosher of Abilene; sisters, Irene Mosher of Loraine, Louis Mosher of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by husband, Henry Williams; sons, Larry Williams and Sam Williams; granddaughter, Tina Cox; parents, Phillip and Effie Mosher; brothers, Lester and Gus Mosher; and sister, Elizabeth McQuarter.

Ken Whitzel
1945-2012
COLORADO CITY -- Mr. Kenneth Wayne “Ken” Whitzel, age 66, died Monday, February 6, 2012, at his residence. Services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God with Rev. Mike Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker- Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Whitzel was born September 24, 1945 in Seminole to Arnold and Helen Lloyd Whitzel and had been a resident of Colorado City since 1988. He married Pat Kidd on June 18, 1977. He was a remodeling contractor and a member of the First Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Whitzel of Colorado City; a son, Keith Whitzel of Plains; a daughter, Valerie and husband, Charles Clark of Midland; a brother, Doyle Whitzel of Carlsbad, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Bradley Gandy, Billy Davis, Lydia Whitzel, Jasmine Whitzel and Brennan Whitzel.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Sam Gandy; and two brothers, Raymond Whitzel and Walter Whitzel.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
