Wolves earn playoff spot, one win from district title
With three games left in the regular season, the Colorado City Wolves took a huge step toward big goal Tuesday night as they defeated the Coahoma Bulldogs in The Pit 60-38.
A game which looked like it might be close early got away from the Bulldogs as the Wolves grabbed a lead and never let up.
Bailey Spencer scored 15 points in the third period alone on his way to a game- high 21. Derek Gainey never made the stat sheet, except in the second period when he drained three straight 3-pointers for nine points, while Tylor Lorenz was good for ten.
With two games left in the season, the Wolves are guaranteed a playoff spot, while the district title is going to take one more win. Benny Jones and Jason Rodriquez each scored seven points in the win Tuesday night.
Corbin Castillo, Aaron Rivera and Gustavo Silva each scored two points for the Wolves as well in the win.
The Wolves will host Post Friday night in a 6:30 p.m. match at The Pit before travelling to Forsan Tuesday, Feb. 14 to face the Buffaloes. That game too is set to tip off at 6:30 p.m.
