UIL realignments set for Thursday morning

So, who does Colorado City get to play in district games next year? No one has the slightest idea. But one thing is certain; we will all find out Thursday morning.

The Universal Interscholastic League’s Reclassification and Realignment is upon the state once again and everyone is waiting to see what it means to them. Colorado City is no different than anyone else.

District champions can become the low man on the ladder, while a team which never won a game last season can claim the golden football.
Coaches’ careers can be made – and destroyed – as a direct result of what happens Thursday.

Locally, everyone is hoping for a Division II draw, including a bit of a break from Wall which would come with it.

The numbers really are not there to be concerned with moving up to 3A, so Colorado City is in a decent position waiting for the results, as it can only get better.

Football games with Coahoma, Stanton and Forsan could possibly be on the horizon for the Wolves.

Refugio and Cisco played for the state title last year. Most would have liked Colorado City’s chances against either one of them.
What about Loraine and Westbrook? There is no clear path for the UIL to take with these two schools. Things could stay the same or the small district they are in could possibly disappear, leaving the two schools either lumped into a bigger district or sent to separate corners of the West Texas playing field all together.

As soon as the results are released Thursday morning, they will be relayed on the Colorado City Record’s website and can be viewed at: www.ccitynews.net
