Chamber accepting Citizen of the Year nominations

Nominations for the 2012 Colorado City Citizen of the Year and Agriculture Award are now being accepted. Entry forms can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce building, located at 157 West 2nd Street, and must be returned to the Chamber of Commerce no later than Feb. 9. The awards will be presented at the 103rd annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet. The date has not been released yet.

Nominees for Citizen of the Year must be at least 18 years of age, have lived in Mitchell County for the entire 12-month period, worked in the community the previous 12 months and the work cannot be part of the individual’s job description.

Nominees for the Agriculture Award must be a family or business that is actively involved in farming or ranching, be involved in their community and be forward thinking in their operations. For more information, contact Amanda Jo Ritchey at the Chamber of Commerce, 728-3403.
