C-City is the holiday place to be
Parking in short supply is always a great sign of a busy downtown and this weekend parking was scarce during the biggest Railhead Trade Days of the year. The weather was perfect and it was wonderful to see shoppers in our downtown area. The Art Guild had an outstanding art show and we had some special volunteers to highlight our historic buildings and ghost stories.
Our Main Event was a busy place as well. We had shoppers from many places and several from quite a distance. One shopper purchased several retail displays for her San Angelo store and called on Sunday to see if we would meet her so that she could purchase a button display she had seen Saturday. She then drove another 140 miles (round trip) to pick up her prize.
A Wallace student purchased vintage items for the first time in our store and many regular customers loaded up on toys, shoes and décor. Our Saturday volunteer workers are to be commended.
We will be having an open house during Light Before Christmas on Friday, December 4th at the Main Event. Light Before Christmas was a huge success last year. The event will begin at 5:00 with some of the stores staying open until 9:00. Carolers will be singing on a designated stage, Christmas stories will be read, marshmallows will be roasted and neighbors will be visiting.
Make plans to celebrate this special season with your family and friends. More details will follow in next week’s article and ad. If you would like to set up a booth or tent to sell products or treats please let us know. Cecilia Scott 325-242-0206.
