Burn ban lifted
After a week which delivered snow and some much-needed rain, the Mitchell County Commissioners lifted the burn ban over the county in a unanimous decision Friday.
Christmas comes early for local soldier
Christmas came early this year for one Colorado City family. The Grizzle family celebrated the holiday at their home on 17th Street Sunday evening this year because Jason, husband and father of three boys, will not be in town when the actual date rolls around. In fact, he will not be in the country.
Prayer vigil held at CMS for Dunn
A prayer vigil held in front of Colorado Middle School was attended by over 700 people, all praying for the safe return of Hailey Dunn, the missing 13-year-old Colorado City girl.
Reunion violence results in injuries
Colorado City police arrested a suspect Tuesday afternoon on one count of assault at Paredes Park.
A family reunion in Paredes Park Saturday evening turned violent, resulting in three assaults between 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
Twenty-one-year old Damian J. Martinez, who is originally from Newport, Rhode Island, was arrested by Detective Adam Davis and charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
“There was a lot of drinking involved,” said Dooley.
