C-City is the holiday place to be

Parking in short supply is always a great sign of a busy downtown and this weekend parking was scarce during the biggest Railhead Trade Days of the year.  The weather was perfect and it was wonderful to see shoppers in our downtown area.  The Art Guild had an outstanding art show and we had some special volunteers to highlight our historic buildings and ghost stories.

Colorado City rises to the top of Main Street Cities

Each year our Main Street program is required to submit a 10-point criteria report that is graded to determine whether or not our program is rated high enough to be eligible for National Main Street designation. We earned a 96 and were among the top cities in Texas to earn such a high score.

Special weekends a Main Street specialty

Junktique was an incredible weekend of family fun and when the thank you list was assembled, it was apparent that it was an event that involved a great many volunteers of every age.

The feedback was exceptional this year, and we were all very pleased with the kickoff Junktique Jog and Western Walk. This was the brainchild of Jincy and Jeremy Ross, and it was a tremendous way to begin the Junktique and start a new tradition event.

Junktique offers variety of fun

What a medley the Junktique Jamboree will have to offer this year. To start off the event, we will have the first ever Junktique Jog and Western Walk sponsored by the Kiwanis.  The first to enter will receive a T-shirt and just think of how much more you can eat of the delicious food offered by our vendors after that workout. Our track teams will be involved, as well as other entrants.

Trash to Treasure goes silent

Junktique is just 25 days away and the excitement is building all over town.  The Junktique Jog and Western Walk will be a new and exciting event this year, and it will start everything off with some great energy.  Breakfast will be at Kiwanis Park on Saturday morning, as well, as the Mitchell County Reunion gets underway with their annual Cowboy Breakfast.

Our entertainment stage will overflow with fabulous talent and unexpected surprises.  A bag piper will take the stage in the afternoon to perform and explain the art of his instrument.
